The Payneham Norwood Union Football Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of former Norwood Captain and Melbourne Demon Jace Bode as Senior Coach for the 2020 season. Jace will act as a playing coach, with Garry McIntosh as an assistant and bench coach. Macca will also become the full time coach of the Reserves in season 2020 and will continue coaching our junior footballers. Jace will also be assisted by Ben Hunt, alongside his role as our Senior Women’s Coach.

The Club owes an immeasurable debt of gratitude to Garry and his family for his 15 years as our senior coach including 5 senior premierships culminating in this year’s division one premiership. Garry’s selflessness in permitting and the assisting the club speaks measures as to his integrity and commitment to the club. Equally, Jace is thrilled to be able to have the benefit of Garry’s experience as an Assistant Coach.

We’re very excited to welcome Jace to the club and will benefit from his substantial experience at AFL and SANFL level. We’re equally as lucky to welcome Jace’s wife Natalie, former captain of the Australian netball team and world championship player. We trust that everyone will make Jace, Natalie and their daughters Maddie and Milla feel welcome.

Become a falc!

Outstanding success in recent years has twice seen the Club win back to back premierships (2005 & 2006 and 2013 & 2014) and rise as high as Division 1 in 2015. Our Senior Men’s A Grade were Division 1 Grand Finalists in 2019, 2017 & 2015, and made it through to the Preliminary Final in 2018. Our most recent success was in 2019, with the Senior Men’s and Women’s teams both winning the premiership. Individually our Club is blessed with some very talented players, including a number with extensive SANFL experience, many of whom are successful products of our junior program. A number of our players have had their hard work rewarded by being drafted to play AFL football, including Alex Forster, George Horlin-Smith and Orazio Fantasia. We encourage you to join our club and be a part of our welcoming community.

ALL players, coaches, volunteers and officials need to register as soon as possible. If you have any trouble registering please contact either Tait (0417 840 182) or Owen (0413 506 051). This year, all players will need to pay a $15 processing fee to the league before their registration can be finalised. All players in the league are required to pay this fee, it has nothing to do with the club and goes directly to the league. 2020 subs will be $350 (men’s As, reserves & C grade). Further information about subs payment procedures to follow early next year.
